Fees and Rebates

My fees are designed to be transparent and straightforward. Below, you will find the costs associated with each service. If you have any questions about the pricing or payment options, please do not hesitate to reach out for more information via the contact page.

Standard/Private Session Fee

The cost for a private psychology session is $165.
For comparison, the Australian Association of Psychologists
Inc (AAPi) recommends $315.

Medicare Rebates

If you have a Medicare referral (via a Mental Health Treatment Plan; MHTP), you may be eligible for a rebate of $96.65, reducing your out-of-pocket cost to $68.35 per session.

NDIS, Work Cover, and Open Arms

For clients referred through NDIS, WorkCover, or Open Arms, services are fully subsidised, and no out-of-pocket fee is charged.

Payment and Rebates

For private and Medicare appointments, the full session fee (plus a service fee of 1.8% + $0.75) is processed following your appointment. Medicare rebates, if applicable, are submitted at the same time as your payment is processed - please note that Medicare rebates are subject to Medicare's processing times and the details they have on file for you.

For third-party payers, such as Open Arms, NDIS, or WorkCover, payment will be arranged directly by your Psychologist with the relevant payer.

Psychology Services

I offer a range of psychology services to support your mental health and well-being. Whether you are seeking therapy for ongoing challenges, psychological assessments for clarity and understanding, formal diagnoses, or professional reports, my goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to your needs. Below, you will find more details on each service to help you decide what best suits your situation.

Talk therapy is conducted via telehealth (phone or video) typically for a duration of 50 mins per session (frequency depends on your needs and preferences). During each session, the use of psychoeducation and psychological intervention are used to help you achieve your therapy goal(s) in a collaborative, respectful, empathetic, and safe way. Therapy will typically draw on evidence based techniques derived from CBT, ACT, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Existential Therapy.

Talk Therapy

Assessment

Assessment is conducted to gauge the initial severity of your symptoms at commencement, then periodically during therapy to help gauge progress. Further assessment may be offered to identify the impact of specific symptoms or clusters of symptoms depending on your needs. Note that due to the nature of telehealth, some forms of assessment are not practical such as those requiring face-to-face interaction with testing materials or those requiring detailed observational data.

Diagnoses

While I do not offer a formal diagnostic service, diagnoses may be necessary as part of your therapy. For example, referral via WorkCover may require a diagnosis to be made or confirmed. Note that due to the nature of telehealth, some diagnoses are not practical such as those requiring face-to-face interaction with testing materials or those requiring complicated observational data.

Reports

While I do not offer a formal report writing service, reporting on symptoms, goals, progress, and clinical opinion may be necessary as part of your therapy. For example, referral via Medicare requires a brief report updating your GP on symptoms, progress, and clinical recommendations periodically throughout your MHTP.

Financial Stress

Please note that, due to the high costs involved in running a private Psychology service, I do not offer bulk-billed Psychology sessions via Medicare at this time.

However, there are options available for those who cannot afford Psychology but still need support.

Tailoring Therapy to Your Budget

If the cost of traditional therapy is out of reach, you may want to work to a reduced frequency of sessions, increase the amount of between-session work, and/or tackle the key issue(s) only, while deferring secondary or less salient issues for another time.

Accessing Free Online Services

If the cost of therapy is out of reach, you may want to explore free online (self-guided) options. NSW Health have a directory of options. Additionally, MindSpot offer a range of free treatment options (including brief teletherapy). Click the links for more info.
